xs Mailout Manager policy for customers receiving email from our system

www.subscriptions.xsdv.com is run by XS Developments on behalf of our clients that use our Mailout Manager for sending solicited email to their customers.

Technical Information

Version 1.0 Information

The HTML version of each email contains the HTML composed by our client as well as a reference to a file called confirm_read.asp which marks the customer's email as read/opened. No other information about the client is stored. This includes the date, time, browser information, IP Address etc.

Version 1.1 Information

Version 1.1 of the Mailout Manager uses an embedded image to track the read-status of the recipient. The batchID and the counter constitute the filename as well as a prefix clearly indicating that this image is used for tracking purposes.

It takes the following format: mailout-manager-tracking-file-[clientname][batchid][gifkey].gif

clientname: the client performing the mailout
batchid: the year, month, day, hour, minute, second expressed as as a 14-digit number YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
gifkey: the mailout counter which maps to an email address in the local database in the range 100001 - 199999.

Unsubscribe Feature

Each HTML and PLAIN/TEXT email contains an unsubscribe link at the very end. The link, which is activated manually by the customer is then used to mark them as unsubscribed. We encourage our clients to maintain their list of unsubscribed email addresses so that future mailouts in new master lists they create will honour the customer's decision to be unsubscribed.

Anti-SPAM / Abuse

If, for some reason, you continue to receive emails from this service, please send an email to abuse@xsdv.com and forward the email to us. We will be able to find the owner via the information stored in the query string for confirm_read.asp.

We collaborate with our clients to ensure that both their sending and reply-to email addresses are valid and working email addresses. If you find that you cannot reply to the sender, please send an email to abuse@xsdv.com and state which email address isn't working. We will contact our client and inform them of this. If no action to resolve this is taken, the client's privilege to use our service will be postponed until the situation is resolved.

xs developments also maintains a strict policy on pornographic and unsavoury material. If you have received any material which is in bad taste, please send an email to abuse*@xsdv.com (please insert the letters "mm" in place of the asterisk!) and forward the email on to us.

It is our intention at xs developments and we believe it is the intention of our clients to provide a high-quality mailout service to intended recipients who have solicited their email address to be used in such mailouts. xs developments does not on-sell or provide other third parties with any email addresses stored in our Mailout service.
